Greetings...
ECMO society of India has contributed significantly in creating interest in physicians about this novel technology, teaching and training of interested physicians and expansion of this life saving modality in ICUs. The technology is rapidly changing to ensure safe ECMO initiation, minimizing complications during prolonged ECMO and improving outcome. Keeping us update with recent development is the current priority and goal for optimizing the outcome with resource limited situations like us. ECMO society of India is currently working to create an affordable ECMO program without compromising quality across the country with outcome at par with international standards. Another important responsibility on our shoulder is to develop guidelines as per Indian scenario/ diseases which are uncommon in western world. This is only possible if we collect our own data and publish it to generate sufficient evidences. ECMO society of India is keen to promote, participate and assist in the relevant research activities related with extracorporeal therapies with focus on ECMO. Since the patients with ECMO support may need other extracorporeal therapies to support other organs so we need to expand our horizon of knowledge and as an initiative ESOI is keen to start a course on comprehensive extracorporeal therapies along with ECMO.
Our state branches are actively involved in the academic activities however we focus to create state branches in the remaining states.
Our current focus is to create a roadmap for improving ECMO practices, expanding training opportunities or fostering collaboration within the global ECMO community.
We seek support and contribution not only from executive body but from every member of ESOI to contribute academically and share the ideas to expand ECMO training, awareness and expanding affordable ECMO therapy for all. We also urge to build our strength by encouraging clinicians, perfusionists, nurses and other allied specialist to join ESOI.
